10 reasons to ban Triple Talaq
1. Just because a practice has been taking place for previous 1400 years , does not make it constitutional and need to be open for reform as soon as possible.
2. Muslim women are being victim of it over 14 centuries, they need more freedom in society.
3. Many Muslim countries have banned it already, why democratic countries like India are taking so long!
4. Basic human rights and gender equality should be valued above religious identity and it can be only achieved by banning triple talaq.
5. Ghunghat, Karwachaut, Chhat are all regressive but Burqa and triple talaq are progressive and empowering? I don't think so.
6. Either way in Islam marriage is a contract and the power of terminating a contract cannot and must not rest with one party.
7. Malpractices and injustice happens in every society but to recognize and rectify it only happens in progressive culture.
8. If muslims have accepted reforms in criminal sharia laws then why not in civil sharia laws ? Select any one full or no reforms at all!
9. Hindu practices like Child marriage, untouchability, Sati Pratha etc were for many years and
now have been abolished. Why Triple Talaq can't be?
10. There must be one constitution for one nation, and nobody should be kept above law at any cost. The uniform civil code must be implemented with immediate effect.
