It's just an opportunity, not guarantee. To clear this opportunity, you'll have to prove that you are a Top Performer when you join the organization!
PSE (Potential Shift Enabler): A person who has exhibited moderate consistency in self-learning, working on Early Engagement activities and needs a bit of assistance or push to work on their IT career path.
Advantages of PSE:
Post joining, PSEs will be given some assessment in their first week at Cognizant. In the past, it was either Hacker Earth challenge, or Programming Fundamentals & SQL assessments. Clearing such assessments will enable a PSE to become Shift Enabler. Not clearing will retain you as PSE.
Shift Enablers get into an experiential learning mode, where learning happens by working on real projects with real use cases or users. You don,t have day-long classes, with trainers talking for hours. You just do and learn!
PSEs will get into an active learning mode, where learning happens like in the Programming using Java modules, but more intensive and focused. You will daily huddle in the morning to set the agenda for the day. You will timed events, and you will also have a daily review of where you went wrong or what you should have done. Again, you will not have any trainers, and you will learn on your own!
Some PSEs will also get into a gamified learning set-up, where your entire learning will be like playing Age of Empires or Clash of Clans.
Bottom-line - POS & PSE will have to learn on their own!
If I am POS or PSE once, am I guaranteed to be POS or PSE forever?
Ofcourse no. You have to keep performing to retain your position as POS or PSE.
All you have to do to become a Top Performer:
Do Early Engagement well, learn how to learn, participate in as many EE activities as possible, win as much as possible, practice-practice-practice, and finally.
Now coming to the most awaited part,

Well! it depends on their business requirements. Secondary it depends on your EE profile where your skills are considered and if those skills meets their business requirement then you will be called but at the same time if many people have got the same skills as you got then your EE rank will play crucial role where you have to be on front-foot. Sometimes we wonder that person who didn,t even start his EE learning but got Date of Joining, in this case they own very unique skills which you may not have.
